EMI UEOKA (b. 1981, Japan) is an artist and illustrator working primarily in pencil. She studied in the United Kingdom, exhibiting life drawings at the National Portrait Gallery as a high-school student, and graduated in Graphic Design from Central Saint Martins, London. In 2011 she began her career as an illustrator with commissions including British Vogue, The New York Times, Leica and Herman Miller. Artworks often depict youth and informal scenes — subjects that remain central to her work.
